Improve Your Smile and Your Life — General, Restorative, and Cosmetic Options

We love helping people enhance their self esteem by achieving smiles that they’ll want to show to the world. The confidence that comes with having a beautiful and healthy smile may even improve personal and business relationships as well. At Advanced Dentistry of Plantation, we offer general care to ensure oral health, restorative procedures to return function to the teeth, and cosmetic options for enhancements that can boost anyone’s self-esteem.

General, Cosmetic, and Restorative Dentistry

General Dentistry — The Foundation of a Beautiful Smile

Healthy teeth and gums are the foundation of a beautiful smile. We offer a range of preventative care and oral health options to make sure that every member of the family has a healthy smile.

Preventative Care: Professional Cleanings, Examinations, and Education

A consistent home dental care regimen, and twice-a-year professional cleanings and examinations are important for maintaining dental health. At Advanced Dentistry of Plantation, we offer a program of preventative care to help you keep your smile healthy for a lifetime. Each examination includes diagnosis with the DIAGNOdent® system, which helps us find small problems and fix them before they progress, as well as a thorough assessment of your dental health and a professional cleaning. We also provide information and education on the proper techniques for at-home oral health care.

Endodontic (Root Canal) Therapy

When the tissues and blood vessels within a tooth, called the pulp, become severely infected, we can perform endodontic (root canal) therapy to help save it. Although root canal therapy has a reputation for being an uncomfortable procedure, we use advanced techniques and a gentle approach to make it virtually painless. Root canal therapy is an important procedure that helps save teeth that would normally need to be removed.

Cosmetic Dentistry — Dramatically Transform Your Smile

Nothing pleases us more than being able to help someone who has insecurities about their smile become more self-confident. We offer a range of transformative cosmetic dentistry options — from the extremely popular Zoom!® tooth whitening, to total smile makeovers — that can dramatically improve your appearance and help you smile with confidence.

Zoom!® Teeth Whitening

With the safe and effective Zoom!® teeth whitening system, you can have dramatically whiter teeth in just an hour. This system utilizes a safe, professional-strength whitening gel, and a powerful activating light to quickly lighten teeth up to ten shades in just one office visit. Zoom!® teeth whitening is proven safe on the teeth and gums, and produces dazzling, long-lasting results.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers can conceal a variety of imperfections, including chips, cracks, and discolorations. They can also be used as instant orthodontic treatment to fill in minor gaps and smooth slight misalignments. Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are custom-made to fit on the front of teeth. They blend in so well with surrounding teeth that it is often difficult to tell the difference between a tooth with a veneer, and one without.

Dental Bonding

As an alternative to porcelain veneers, dental bonding can quickly and easily correct teeth with chips and cracks, as well as misalignments, and slight gaps between teeth. Dental bonding is one of the least expensive cosmetic options, and the process can be completed in a single office visit. During bonding, a tooth-colored resin is applied to the tooth, and is then shaped, smoothed, and polished to a natural-looking sheen for amazing results.

Tooth-colored Fillings

Tooth-colored composite fillings are an excellent natural-looking alternative to traditional metal fillings. They blend in with surrounding teeth, and are completely mercury free. We can remove your old silver fillings and replace them with safe and natural-looking tooth-colored fillings.

Cosmetic Gum Lifting

An overly gummy smile can hide the beautiful teeth beneath. We utilize our soft-tissue laser to contour the gums so that they frame the teeth. Oftentimes, we can make teeth look longer and even out an asymmetrical gum line so that the teeth and gums look balanced and natural.

Invisalign® Orthodontics

For patients who want to straighten their teeth discreetly and comfortably, we offer the revolutionary Invisalign® system. Invisalign® uses a series of clear plastic aligners that are custom-made to gradually move a patient’s teeth into position. Patients wear a set of aligners for about two weeks, and then replace them with the next set in their series. The aligners are comfortable, removable, and highly effective. In most cases, treatment can be completed in six to fifteen months.

Total Smile Makeovers

Our dentists have the experience and skill to combine several treatments and procedures into a total smile makeover for a dramatic transformation. We customize smile makeovers to fit each patient’s needs and desires. And, with cosmetic imaging, you can preview what your teeth may look like after a smile makeover to help you decide which options are right for you.

Restorative Dentistry — Return Function and Beauty to Your Smile

Damaged, decayed, or missing teeth can detract from your smile, in addition to causing problems with biting, chewing, and speaking. No matter what dental treatments you need, our dentists can restore function and beauty to your smile so that you can be proud to show it off.

Dental Implants

Dental implants look and function much more like natural teeth than other tooth replacement options. They also help prevent the bone loss and sunken appearance that is often associated with missing teeth. Dental implants can be used to replace a single tooth or several teeth, and can also stabilize a bridge or set of dentures. The titanium implant is surgically placed in the jawbone and acts as an artificial tooth root. The bone fuses to the implant to form a strong foundation for a replacement tooth.

Dr. Schwartz works closely with a local periodontist to plan the entire dental implant procedure. If you already have an implant and are in need of a new restoration, Dr. Schwartz can create a natural-looking replacement tooth to replace your old restoration.

Dental Crowns

A crown is a cap that fits over the entire tooth and is designed to look like a natural tooth in order to blend in with your smile. Crowns can give support to teeth that have become weakened due to decay, damage, or root canal therapy. They can also be used to conceal imperfections, including cracks and discolorations that can detract from a beautiful smile.

Dental Bridges

Although dental implants are the best tooth replacement option for many of our patients, they are not appropriate for everyone. That’s why we also offer dental bridges to replace missing teeth. A dental bridge includes one or more replacement teeth which are attached to surrounding teeth that have been prepared with dental crowns. Our dentists can help determine if a dental implant or bridge is the right tooth replacement option for you.

Porcelain Inlays and Onlays

Inlays and onlays are custom-made porcelain restorations that are used to restore teeth that have been damaged by cavities or other decay. We use them instead of tooth-colored fillings when a tooth needs extra support, but does not need a full dental crown. Inlays are placed within the cusps (points) of a tooth and onlays are placed on one or more of the cusps. Because they are made from porcelain, inlays and onlays are durable and blend in with surrounding teeth.
